Hey, it’s been a year of gluten-free blogging! Let me know you’re reading and what you would like to see on this blog going forward.
Here’s a little sneak peek at three recipes coming up… a lemon cake, a sundae, and chicken and waffles. I actually have about 13 recipes waiting to be posted, with more in mind to try out!
I have enjoyed this year of blogging and I am really looking forward to another year. When I started blogging it was with the purpose of promoting my cookbook. I wasn’t sure whether or not I would enjoy blogging, but it turns out I really do!
I had a ton of fun making food cute. Sometimes I made bento lunches with the food and sometimes I created an art piece like the “Mango Lassie” below. Making art out of food is so fun for me, I often get really carried away when it comes time for a photo shoot.
Missed some good posts? Click on the photos below to take you to the post.
So where do I go from here?
1) I will let inspiration and the excitement of any given project lead the way.
2) After the posts already waiting in the wings, my blog will most likely be grain-free (there are already many grain-free recipes here, but the transition will take some time, so by fall new posts should be grain-free). I have been eating grain-free since January and will continue with that. What I eat changes as my body and health change. I can’t say for sure what I will eat in the future, but whatever I am eating will be what is on the blog (because why blog about food I don’t eat?)
3) I will continue to blog about fun projects with my kids. Coming up: Strawberry Fest. We will blog about our cultural studies occasionally too.
4) I am considering sharing more personal stories of diet, fitness, parenting, and life. It would just be a sentence here and there, but I haven’t done much of that this past year. Interested?
Thank you for reading and have a wonderful day!
Love, Dawn
I hope that you keep blogging. You are the most creative person I know, and I enjoy seeing what you come up with next. Like the Mango Lassi bento box…you have some very lucky daughters!!! For the most part, your recipes are vegetarian, but I would like to see some more vegetarian and vegan main dish recipes. The other thing that would help me, is cooking on a tight budget….let me say, cooking healthy on a tight budget. I would enjoy some personal stories, if you would like to go that way. Keep up the good work, I enjoy it very much!!!
Cool, thanks for the impute. While many of my recipes happen to be vegan, I don’t strive to eat a vegan diet myself- so vegan recipes will be hit or miss. As for a tight budget, sticking with fresh vegetables from the farmers market and avoiding processed foods is a good way to save some money. (I am also eating fewer nuts- which happens to be good for the wallet too.)
I like your blog Dawn. What you do is very creative. It leads me to be better with my own diet restrictions with your helpful and enticing dishes! thank you!
Thank you Tracey, nice hearing from you!
Happy anniversary, Dawn! I’m looking forward to all that you do in the future. I love grain-free recipes. :-) There’s so much fun deliciousness here at Cuter Than Gluten! ;-)
Shirley
Thank you Shirley!
Happy anniversary Dawn. Thank you for a year of wonderful, healthy, easy recipes. I still cook out of your cookbook…my husband makes your chicken sesame dish every Saturday. It’s my favorite dinner!! I like it with roasted squash (butternut or sweet potato) and baby broccoli. I look forward to more of your recipes and inspiring lunch creations.
Have a great weekend
Hugs,
–Amber
Thank you Amber. I meant to tell you that I love your walnut bread photo.
Amber, that is my favorite too! I sometimes make it with no maple syrup to cut down on the sweets and it is still perfect. I like to have it in the refrigerator for quick salads.
Thanks for all of your support!
Happy Anniversary! The blog is inspirational and hilarious — a rare mix — and I read it every time! I love reading about the context of the culinary creativity, whether just play with ingredients or looking at a diet change. I will look forward to any and all of the upcoming changes and appreciate the writing on cultural context, parenting, and food & health. Particularly enjoy seeing the animal pictures (Hi Burrito!!) so of course Mango Lassie is my favorite bento. thanks, Dawn, for being a wonderful blogger!
Thank you Carolyn. Animals are the best aren’t they?
